Japademy is the first Japanese language school to provide fully digital online access to video courses and live instructor lessons.

Japanese Instructors

All our instructors are Japanese with teaching qualifications and at least three years of experience.

Global Team

Japademy was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2020. Currently, our team is located in Toronto and Tokyo.

Students Worldwide

We have students from Australia, the USA, UK, Canada, Russia, Malaysia and Thailand. All countries are welcome.

Japademy was born

April 2020

During the first COVID-19 lockdown in Melbourne, after losing her employment as a Japanese teacher, Kanami-sensei started giving online lessons.

Our lessons gained popularity

November 2020

Due to success and increasing demand for online lessons, Yumiko-sensei joined our small but happy team of instructors.

Enhanced learning material

January 2021

We started creating in-house content such as slides and handouts to provide an easy and efficient learning experience.

An experienced team formed

May 2021

To keep up with the rising number of students, Yuuka-sensei, Akana-sensei, and Haruka-sensei joined our team giving us 15 years of teaching experience.

Video Courses launched

September 2021

To fulfil our goal to help thousands of people to learn Japanese, we launched our video courses available on our website and Udemy.

We moved to Canada

January 2022

We relocated our school from Australia to Canada looking for new opportunities to grow and reach students in America.

Started Online Courses

March 2023

For the first time we started giving Online Group Lessons in our 10-week course format, allowing students to learn Japanese faster and more effectively.
